Our History

PEP-Connections is a center that specializes in child
development, education, counseling, and tutorial services.
It is designed to assist parents and primary caregivers in
their child's academic, social and physical growth. Its
customers are intelligent, caring, and concerned individuals
who want the best care and education for their children at
an affordable price.
The
company was incorporated in East Lansing, Michigan in 1996.
After 8 years of previous educational training, experiences,
and working with and training others, the proprietor, Dr.
Bridget Plair, envisioned a center of her own.
Premier Enrichment Potential
(PEP)-Connections is a holistic center whose primary focus
is the upward mobility of its clientele. The four major
program components are as follows:
(1) child development, (2) education, (3) tutorial services,
and (4) consulting.
The Child
Development component's primary responsibility is
the nurturing of children while providing care in a safe,
healthy, and stimulating and aesthetically pleasing
environment. This is accomplished through developmentally
appropriate activities for children ages six weeks through
12 years. The center also offers lessons in child growth and
development classes that are available to parents.
The Educational
component provides quality educational curriculum that
is age developmental and potential appropriate. This is
accomplished through introducing the participants to
the latest computer technology and other educational
resources which afford the participants an edge in their
formative years.
The next
component of the center is Tutorial Services
that involve diagnostic academic measurements to assess the
participants' strengths, weaknesses, needs and abilities.
Contents areas are as follows: reading comprehension,
language (oral and written), math, and test-taking/study
skills. Tutoring is done in private one-on-one customized
sessions by specially trained, qualified and experienced
instructors aimed at improving the participants' study
skills and enhancing self-confidence and thus increasing
self-esteem. After hours tutoring is arranged for students
up to high school age. Also available is a College Prep
program with an emphasis on college entrance examinations
such as the SAT and ACT.
The final
component of the center is that of Consulting
by assisting others to establish centers, businesses, and
training in other areas - cities, counties, and states.
The Program
Components are structured and sensitive to the participants'
learning style. Employing integrated strategies and skills
that will enable the participants to become more effective
and efficient learners. Instructors and staff are qualified
and specially trained to meet the challenges and goals of
the center. PEP-Connections therefore, offers programs for
profit, that are part and full-day child care, as well as
preschool and elementary services with an emphasis on
strengthening the family by employing an ecological
framework and interfacing with other systems in the
families' natural, human constructed, and human behavioral
environments.
